Luca Lazar/Luka Lasareishvili is a German artist, originally from Georgia (former USSR), who has been living and working in New York since 2003. He works in a variety of media: painting, installations, objects and video art. His works have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums, including Museum Fridericianum (Kassel, Germany) and Ermitage (Moscow).

In addition the works of Lazar are included in various museum-, private, public and corporate collections, among which Museum Ludwig (Germany), National Tretiakov Gallery (Moscow, Russia), Gallery de France (Paris, France), Henry Nannen Museum (Germany), State Art Museum Tbilisi (Republic of Georgia), Zimmerli Art Museum (USA), Kollodzei Foundation (Russia/USA), Mona Bismark Foundation (Paris, France), Price Waterhouse Coopers collection, Deutsche Bank (Germany), City of Cologne (Germany) and the City of Strasbourg (France).

Mr. Lazar is the recipient of several awards and honors, including a fellowship from Museum Fridericianum (Germany), the first prize for installations from the Ursula-Blickle Stiftung for his installation Crusade III and the 1st prize for his individual artistic style for his paintings by an international art critics jury at the “Festival International de la Peinture” in Cagnes, France.

Luca Lazar holds a M.A. of the academy of arts of Tbilisi, Georgia. Since 1997, he holds a position as lecturer at the European Academy of Fine Arts in Trier, Germany.
